Farewell

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Players of Great Lakes,

I hope you have enjoyed the time I have spent with you as much as I have. Unfortunately, other things have come up that have required me to leave my position as your Event Moderator.
But never you fear, for Malachi is still here for you all.

Safe travels to you all (but not so safe that they aren’t fun),
Iatu

Dexter’s Code

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Royal Spies,

Here is one of the encoded messages Dexter sent us before he died. Unfortunately, we don’t have the full cipher. James believes it is a substitution cipher with extra characters (123456789?/&!). See if you can figure it out before Tuesday’s mission. If I get any more information, I will provide it. Good luck!

-Magnus Grey

Skara Brae Fairgrounds Anniversary

Friday, November 27th, 2009

To help celebrate the anniversary of the Skara Brae Fairgrounds, some contests similar to those held during the first weekend of the Fairgrounds will be held this Saturday at 9 PM CST.

Messy EMs: The Event

Friday, November 27th, 2009

It has been pointed out that during the course of almost a full year of EM events that sometimes we leave little event bits out: random items, random NPC dialogues that make no sense months later, etc. While we do try to clean up after ourselves, we sometimes forget all the pieces of an event. We need your help to find them all.

What to do:
1. Find EM event items locked down in the world (for example: red swords, red books, enforcer orders) and make note of their locations.
2. Write them down in an email to emmalachi@gmail.com along with your character’s name.
3. You can also write them in a in-game book and drop at the mailbox next to the Britain Counselor’s Hall.
4. We will read your emails and clean up. We will also keep track of who submits the most correct finds.
5. Winners will get their name at the Reward Hall.
6. We may leave out certain things that seem appropriate or are related to rewards.

Happy hunting!

Thanksgiving Spy Mission – November 24, 2009

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Magnus Grey asks the Royal Spies to meet him in Britain at the Counselor’s Hall as usual on Tuesday, November 24th at 8pm CST to briefly discuss any threats to the realm. Afterward, all who wish can attend a special Harvest Feast Thanksgiving dinner with Queen Dawn. Magnus Grey suggests that members of the Royal Guard and Spies still bring their equipment. Better safe than sorry.

Bard Contest – This Saturday

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

This Saturday, there will be a Bard Contest at the West Britain Counselor Hall or the Skara Brae Fairgrounds (depending on how many attend). The contest will either be from 3-5 PM CST.

Come ready to recite your best Poem, Song, or Short Story. The work must be short enough to fit in an in-game book, as the winning work will be put on display in the EM Reward Hall. It would be very helpful if you come with a copy of your work already entered into a book.

You may perform your work however you choose. Songs can be sung as a duet, or stories performed as a play, for example. The crowd will vote on the most entertaining performance.
